The Treasure Seekers (An Otherworldly Quest) - Nothing here is accidental!

Stories help us know our traditions. When such stories blend mystery, adventure, and fantasy, they create a special kind of magic. What happens when such magic is created in the life of an eleven-year-old boy who thinks the town he lives in is ordinary, and nothing exciting ever happens there? A story is born where tradition meets imagination.

The Treasure Seekers (An Otherworldly Quest) by Archana Narayanan is about that eleven-year-old boy, Keshav, and how, along with his friends Veda and Ranga, he experiences magic through a mystery. A mystery that he encounters on the sacred day of Vaikunta Ekadashi.

Keshav and his parents had recently moved from the city to their family home in the small town of Madhavapuram. The stay was temporary as Keshav’s parents wanted to experience life in a small town for a couple of years.

Madhavapuram is a peaceful little town situated on the banks of the Kaveri River. Even though the quality-of-life features of the town were appealing, “Nothing even remotely magical happens in this town” is what Keshav’s statement is.

On a Vaikunta Ekadashi day, Keshav experiences something strange near the entrance doors of the temple’s inner sanctum. He couldn’t cross the doorway like others. Crossing the doorway on Vaikunta Ekadashi meant cleansing oneself of sins and entering Vaikuntam itself. Instead, he experiences magic. An unexpected discovery leads him to the gateway to another world. Unsure if it’s a case of time travel, Keshav and his friends dive into a world of mystery, attempting to unravel the truth.
